Our mission is to advance, promote and defend health rights including sexual and reproductive and rights of women and girls at the grass root communities in Uganda (increasing access to safe and legal abortion services and reducing abortion stigma).
Institutional Capacity Strengthening and Development: we support members in strengthening internal policies and systems.
Policy Advocacy: we lead dialoguing with policy makers for policy change to achieve reproductive rights for women and girls. It involves empowerment of women to demand for safe and legal abortion services and policies.
Strategic Information Management and Communication: involves conducting research to inform our programming and policy advocacy.
Sexual Reproductive Health Services and Referrals: this program focuses on community mobilization strategies to increase women and girls' access to life saving sexual and reproductive information, promote access to quality and safe reproductive services (safe abortion and post abortion care), promote safe motherhood, prevent unsafe abortions.
Legal Aid and Support for Priority and Key Populations at Grassroot: This program focuses on promoting human rights of PKPs such as women, adolescents, youths, People with Disabilities, discordant couples, Sex Workers, Injectable Drug Users, PLHIV, Refugees and Transgender women.
COHERINET has exceptional skills in Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA), Trainings in Research and Policy Advocacy, Trainings in Community Mobilization, Documentation of Significant Stories of Change on contraception and safe abortion, Trainings of members as paralegals and offer legal aid.
